The Taubman Family

Updated: Dec 3, 2021

We are excited to introduce Jessica, Daniel, and Matthew (2) as our April Family of the Month! They live in Elkridge and Matthew attends Bet Yeladim. Jess serves on our Good Deeds Day Committee and is excited about this year's projects. Daniel works as a small market imaging sales manager and Jessica works as a background screening compliance attorney. The Taubman family loves PJ Library. Check out their interview below!

How Did You Hear about PJ Library? Years ago, a friend brought her daughter's copy of I Dissent to work to show me, knowing that I loved Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I asked who sent it to her and she told me about PJ Library. She said that one day, when we had kids of our own, we would have to sign up. My mind was blown!

What are your favorite PJ Library books? Our son loves The Colors of My Jewish Year! It's really fun seeing him connect two things he's learning at school together - colors and Jewish holidays.

Why is PJ Library important in your home? It's of the utmost importance to us to instill the importance of Judaism in our home. We want our son to understand Jewish holidays and traditions, to feel a connection to Israel, and above all else to value Tikkun Olam, repairing the world.

How has PJ Library influenced your family's Jewish living and decisions? We want Jewish values to be at the core of what we do and how we raise our family. PJ Library has helped to make that process child friendly, engaging, and fun! It also helps us build upon what he's learning at school so he understands that learning doesn't stop once he leaves the classroom.

What is your bedtime routine with your little one? After getting ready for bed and settling in, we always read a story or two. This often includes PJ Library books, especially as the holidays approach. Then we cross our fingers that he actually sleeps!

We hope you enjoyed getting to know the Taubman Family this month! If you'd like to be featured as an upcoming Family of the Month, send Allison an email.
