We are thrilled to introduce our February PJ Library Family of the Month! Wendy, Eric, Lilly (8), and Sammi (5) Ellingson live in North Laurel. Lilly is in 3rd grade and Sammi will begin Kindergarten in the fall. The Ellingson family belongs to Bet Chaverim in Columbia. Wendy is a social worker and Eric is a high school science teacher. Check out why they love PJ Library!
How Did You Hear about PJ Library? I actually heard about PJ Library from a friend in San Francisco. At that time we didn't have it here and I was bummed. My mom heard about it when it came to this area and we signed up right away!
Why is PJ Library important in your home? We love PJ Library books because they reinforce the Jewish values that we are trying to teach the kids. They see themselves reflected in the stories. We also like how the books grow with us. Lilly is now part of PJ Our Way and she loved her first book. She asked me to buy the sequel already!
How has PJ Library influenced your family's Jewish living and decisions? We like feeling connected to the larger Jewish community of Howard County and we look forward to attending PJ Library events in person whenever it is safe!
What are your favorite PJ Library books? Sammi loves Biscuit's Hanukkah because she likes the dog and she likes to see the friends celebrate Hanukkah together. Lilly loves her new PJ Our Way book - Max Einstein: The Genius Experiment - and can't wait to receive her next selection.
We hope you enjoyed getting to know the Ellingson Family this month! If you'd like to be featured as an upcoming Family of the Month, send Allison an email.
