Groups
The Jewish Federation of Howard County provides periodic therapeutic support groups on a range of topics. Support Groups may be focus on bereavement, dealing with COVID-19, “sandwich generation” issues, abuse addiction, and other topics.
The Federation offers bereavement support groups that launch in the spring, winter, and fall. Each group is structured with an eight-week curriculum where clients will be able to share about their own grief and learn how to cope with the impact of the death of a loved one.

All support groups are free and open to the community, but initial intake required. For an example of the schedule of the support groups, see the chart below.

Fall 2023 Sessions

Adult Child Loss Support Group | Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm | September 6, 13, 20; October 4, 11, 18, 25; November 1 | In-Person - For those who have lost children and are struggling with that loss. |
Caregivers Support Group | Tuesdays from 1:00-2:00pm | September 5, 12, 19; October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | Remove via Zoom - For people who are supporting loved ones through a terminal or long-term illness. |
Parent Loss Support Group | Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00pm | September 5, 12, 19; October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | In-Person - For those who have lost either or both parents and are struggling with that loss. |
Spousal Loss Support Group | Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00pm | September 5, 12, 19; October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | In-Person - For those struggling with the loss of a spouse. |
