Do good with Federation's monthly volunteer initiative, Mitzvah Meals! Drop off bagged lunches and Federation will deliver them to clients of Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and Elizabeth House, local organizations that feed those experiencing food insecurity in Howard County.
Lunches should include:
Bottle of water (no juice boxes, please)
Suggestions: Meat and cheese, tuna salad, chicken salad
No nuts, PB&J, or plain cheese sandwiches
A piece of fresh fruit, fruit cup, or fruit snack
Please pack the lunches in a paper lunch bag with the date the lunch was made and the type of sandwich written on the outside. Feel free to decorate the bags and include an encouraging note!
Drop-Off Location & Time
Please drop off the lunches between 9:30 - 10:30 am
Jewish Federation of Howard County - parking lot
10630 Little Patuxent Parkway
Columbia, MD 21044
Turn into the parking lot off of Governor Warfield Parkway, and look for the JFHC banner sign on the right of the lot. This is the side of the parking lot near Wilde Lake High School. You will put the lunches directly into the cars of our volunteers.
We ask that those dropping off lunches please wear a mask when unloading lunches into the volunteer’s cars.
Mitzvah Meals is made possible by Jewish Federation of Howard County volunteers. A special thank you to FedTov Connections coordinators Susan Horowitz and Marilyn Handwerger.
