Rabbi Craig Axler is the spiritual leader of Temple Isaiah in Fulton, MD. An avid cook and baker, he always looks forward to the unique challenges that Passover restrictions pose, and creative ways to make something beautiful and delicious. He credits his love of cooking with the wisdom of his mother who, upon his revelation at age fourteen that he was now a vegetarian, responded “I guess it’s time for you to learn to cook!” He also credits his love of Jewish foods with being in a multi-generational family of excellent cooks and bakers.
Rabbi Daniel Plotkin is the Rabbi-Educator of Temple Isaiah in Fulton, MD. Remembering the copious amount of Passover baking coming from the home of his Grandmother, the smells and tastes of the holiday bring back memories of family long gone, and the joys of the large in-law family he is now a part of. As a long time grill master and having served as the faculty for Culinary Arts for two summers at the URJ's Six Points Creative Arts Academy, Rabbi Plotkin has established his own sense of place in a kitchen as he has grown in love and appreciation of both traditional and contemporary Jewish food.
