The Jewish Federation of Howard County is a community-building organization,
raising funds to take care of those in need and build a vibrant Jewish future in Howard County, in Israel, and around the world.

  • 27% Building Community

    We partner with synagogues, preschools, and community organizations to bring the Jewish community together. Community programs include Yom HaShoah, the Red Tent Club, and the Purim Palooza & Kids Activity Expo, among others!

  • 12% Helping Those in Need

    Our local beneficiary agencies and services address the evolving and growing needs of our Jewish community and care for the most vulnerable. Services include our Hospice and Community Chaplaincy programs and the work of our Jewish Community Social Worker.

  • 23% Enriching Jewish Life

    Our vibrant and innovative programs and services nurture Jewish identity and cultural engagement, enabling the next generation to grow up with a connection to Judaism. Programs include PJ Library in Howard County, BBYO, and religious school scholarships.

  • 27% Supporting Our Jewish Family Around The Globe

    Our Annual Campaign supports humanitarian efforts in Israel and worldwide. Partner organizations include Birthright Israel, Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and World ORT.

    Highly skilled professional staff work to raise critical funds and coordinate programs and initiatives that enrich Jewish life and save Jewish lives in Howard County, in Israel ,and around the world.


$10,000 builds a bomb shelter which provides safety for 26 Israelis under rocket fire

$3,600 buys 150 winter emergency kits for seniors in need in Howard County

$365 provides seven months of leadership training for a Howard County Jewish adult ages 22-45

$180 secures funding for three families to receive free Jewish books as part of PJ Library

$36 Provides gift cards to local stores to provide Howard County families with much needed food and clothing
