Meet the Milsteins! Tami, Michael, and their three children, Leah (9), Sadie (7), and Matthew (3) are our PJ Library Family of the Month. They live in Fulton and have loved receiving PJ Library books over the past 6 years!
What is your family’s favorite PJ Library book?
Our favorite PJ Library book is The Shabbat Box. We have read it hundreds of times! I think our children identify with it because they experienced something similar to the Shabbat box at their preschool (a Shabbat backpack that comes home with a different family each weekend). Our oldest daughter even wrote a sequel to that story for a 3rd grade school project.
Why is PJ Library important in your home?
We love having books about Judaism in our home and how they help foster our children’s Jewish identity. Our two older children have both experienced being the only Jewish child in their class (the struggle to curb Christmas envy is real). It is important that they remember that they are part of a rich culture with history and traditions. PJ Library books definitely help with that.
Thank you Tami and Michael for sharing your love of PJ Library! If you'd like to be featured in an upcoming PJ Library newsletter as our Family of the Month, email Allison Weil at AWeil@JewishHowardCounty.org.
