Shlichut is an outreach program that brings shlichim (cultural emissaries) from Israel to live and work in Howard County.
In keeping with our core value of K'lal Yisrael, the Jewish Federation of Howard County continues as always to focus on our brothers and sisters in Israel. One-third of the funds raised in our Annual Campaign supports humanitarian efforts in Israel and the former Soviet Union.
The Israel Committee creates programs and events that help educate the community about Israel; including a speaker series and Israeli holiday programs for Yom Ha'Atzmaut and Yom Hazikaron.
"My hope is that by bringing Israel programming to Howard County it will provide us opportunities to learn more about the land, the history and the culture, forging a deeper connection with our Jewish homeland and it’s people."
