8 Reasons to Volunteer on November 28th for #GivingTuesday

Kick off the giving season with the mitzvah of tzedakah! You know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but have you heard about #GivingTuesday?

Join us at one of our most important community-wide events of the year to make calls in support of building a better Jewish future. We will be making calls from 8:30-10:30 in the morning and 5:30-7:30 in the evening. Check out the top 8 reasons why being a #GivingTuesday volunteer is the best!

8. Do-gooders unite
#GivingTuesday is a great way to show support for our community and our Annual Campaign which raises funds to build a better Jewish future. Come wearing your community swag like a Purim Palooza, synagogue or preschool t-shirt and show your pride. We are stronger together!

7. It’s a fun and festive party!
There will be balloons!

6. It’s family friendly
Kids make great phoners as well. Feel free to bring your children ages 12+ to help out and make phone calls! We will also sign community service forms for teens who want to volunteer.

5. Enjoy free food!
While you’re here, we’ll feed you.

4. Network, chat, and network some more
There will be volunteers & staff in the office all day.
It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones.

3. Grab some swag
Everyone loves free stuff! Our generous sponsors from previous events have provided us with fun goodies for our volunteers to take home.
Plus, get your own Jewish Federation of Howard County lip balm.

2. Watch the totals rise
Every hour, volunteers stop what they’re doing for an announcement about how much money we’ve raised so far. It’s an exciting moment! It feels good to be part of a team that saves lives in Howard County, Israel and 70 countries around the globe.

1. Show your Jewish Howard County pride!
In the past, we’ve raised more than $80,000 in just one day – this year we hope will be no different!
