For our “One Book” synagogue-wide read this year, we are reading The Garment Maker’s Daughter by Hillary Adrienne Stern. Published in December 2016, the novel spans multiple decades, following Jewish immigrant Lena Rothman who moves to American to become a shirtwaist-maker and devoted suffragette and who survives a devastating fire at the factory. The Garment Maker’s Daughter was selected as an Editor’s Choice by the Historical Novel Society. Paperback and Kindle versions are currently available for sale on Amazon. Copies are also available for sale in the Oseh Shalom office for $10.00 each.
Join us for a brunch with the author on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 10:00 am in the social hall, where Hillary Stern will discuss her book. The event is free for Oseh Shalom members, $10 for non-members. Sponsored by the Lifelong Learning Committee. For questions, contact Judy Katz at 301-613-5839 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
