This year Oseh Shalom Synagogue will be creatively celebrating Simchat Torah in the virtual mishkan – sacred tent – that we created during this year’s High Holy Days.

We invite you to join us and:

  • Draw lots to receive your own verse of “torah” for the year, taken from one of the rings in Oseh’s dome. (Everyone can participate!)

  • Raise money for tzedakah from the comfort of your own home through joyous dancing to Cantor Charlie’s musical accompaniment (Details provided during our celebration).

  • Experience highlights of the 5 Books from several of our wonderful Oseh lay leaders, including learning sign language for the names of the 5 Books!

  • Hear the last verses and first verses of the Torah chanted

  • Honor some special Oseh leaders who have contributed in key ways to our community

  • Honor our children

Feel free to set the background of your Zoom screen with something connected to Torah!

Do you have a plush Torah scroll at home? How about a mini one from the Kabbalat Torah/ Consecration/ or other event? Now’s a great time to bring it out so that you can dance with it! Have empty toilet paper rolls? The internet has lots of resources for how to make a “Torah scroll” of your own to dance with.
