Come join us!
And the Jewish communities of Howard County
An exciting learning opportunity!
Howard County Rabbis and Jewish Congregations invite you to participate in a new county-wide educational opportunity to study Judaism, learn to read/decode Hebrew, and, for those who might be interested, explore options for conversion.*
“Explore Judaism…” is open to anyone interested in personal, spiritual, or intellectual exploration. Our 16-week course of study affords individuals or couples the opportunity to better understand Jewish Ethics and Values, the meaning and practice of Holy Day and Festival celebrations, a broad range of theological perspectives, the scope of Jewish History, the importance of Israel, and the many faces of Jewish Identity in the 21st century. In addition, you will be encouraged to ask your questions about Judaism and Jewish life, and explore what Jewish living/practice might mean in your own personal life.
The course will be co-taught by a variety of rabbis (Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist) who live and work in Howard County, giving you a chance to meet them and get to know them. Additionally, the setting will allow you to connect with a small community of people seeking to explore Judaism, build relationships with one another.
**For those seeking conversion, you may be sponsored by a rabbi with whom you already have a connection, or you will be matched with a rabbi to be your mentor and guide. In addition to the 16-week course of study and Hebrew reading class, visits to an array of synagogues in the area over the course of the year and conversations with your sponsoring mentor will be arranged.
