Purim Katan

Seventeenth of Tammuz
The Seventeenth of Tammuz is a minor fast day commemorating the end of the seige around Jerusalem which began on Asara B'Tevet.

The days between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av are days of mourning, for during this time the collapse of Jerusalem during the Roman occupation occurred.

Tisha B'Av
This is the saddest day of the year.  On this day both the First and Second Temples were destroyed (587 BCE and CE 70), King Edward I signed the edict compelling the Jews to leave England in 1290, and the Jewish expulsion from Spain occured in 1492.
